Solar Panel Cost Calculator

How the calculator works

The calculator gives you a first estimate in about two minutes. It uses five things:

  1. Your roof. We look at your roof on Google's satellite map. This shows how much sun it gets and how many panels fit.
  2. How much electricity you use. Pick low, medium or high. Or type in your yearly use in kWh, or your monthly bill.
  3. The number of panels. We suggest a number based on your use. You can change it.
  4. A battery, if you want one. Choose none, 5 kWh or 10 kWh.
  5. Recent electricity prices. We use a recent price for electricity you buy, and a standard rate for electricity you sell back to the grid.

What you get

  • The price of the system.
  • How much you could save on your bills each year.
  • How much you could earn from selling spare electricity.
  • Roughly how many years it takes to pay for itself.

We ask for your name and contact details before we show the price, so we can email you a copy.

How accurate is it?

It is an estimate, not a quote. The final price depends on things we can only check at your home, such as your roof, any shade and your fuse board. For a fixed price, book a free survey. We visit, check everything and give you a written quote.

Questions

Do I have to buy anything?

No. The estimate is free and there is no obligation.

Can I use my bill instead of kWh?

Yes. Enter your monthly bill and we work out your yearly use.

What if fewer panels fit than I chose?

The estimate uses the number that fits and tells you.

Do I need a battery?

No. A battery lets you use more of your own solar power in the evening. You can add one in the calculator to see what it would cost.
