Aftercare & Warranties
Handover day is the start of the relationship, not the end of it. This page sets out what you get when we hand the system over, what your warranties cover, and how to reach us if something stops working.

When your system is switched on we do not simply pack up and drive away. We set up your monitoring app with you and explain how to read it, so you can see what your system is generating and using from day one.
We also give you a handover pack. It contains:
- Your MCS certificate.
- Your DNO notification — the paperwork that tells the electricity network operator your system is connected.
- Your electrical (Part P) certificate.
- Your manufacturer warranties.
- Your monitoring login.
The handover pack is yours to keep, and it is worth holding on to: buyers and their solicitors normally ask for it when a house with solar is sold. If you mislay it, email hello@eastbourne.energy and we will issue it again — there is no charge for that.
A typical installation is covered by three separate warranties. Two come from the manufacturers of the equipment; the third is ours and covers the work we did.
- Panels — 30-year panel warranties (panel dependent), from the panel manufacturer.
- Inverter and battery — 10-year inverter and battery warranties, from the equipment manufacturer.
- Our workmanship — a 6-year workmanship warranty on the installation itself, at no extra cost to you.
Our workmanship warranty is insurance-backed through IWA (the Independent Warranty Association), so the full term is honoured even if the business were to stop trading, and it transfers to the new owner if you sell your home. It covers faults in the installation work; the manufacturer warranties cover the equipment itself.
Email hello@eastbourne.energy with the address of the installation, roughly when it was done, and a description of the fault. A photograph, or a screenshot of your monitoring app, helps us work out what is happening before we set off. You can also call the office on 01323 324888.
We respond to warranty faults within 1 working day, and where we need to see the system we arrange an inspection with you. If the fault turns out to sit with the equipment rather than our work, we deal with the manufacturer on your behalf.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a fault — or with anything else about your installation — we have a published complaints procedure with fixed timescales, and a free, independent service you can go to if we cannot put things right between us.
The business is fully insured, including public liability cover for the work we carry out. If you, your insurer or your mortgage lender need the details, email hello@eastbourne.energy or call 01323 324888 and we will send them to you.
