Solar Panels in Seaford

It can. A diverter sends spare power to the immersion heater in your tank instead of to the grid. One Seaford customer has 12 panels, a battery and an iBoost for the hot water. That home is also set up for export payments with Octopus.

No. Split roofs and dormers are common on the ridge and along the coast roads here. One shaded or badly angled panel can drag a whole array down. Where the design needs them, we fit optimisers so one panel has much less effect on the rest. We settle the layout at the survey, once we can see both roof faces properly.

Yes, up to the point where we order the equipment. A Seaford customer described us as open to tweaks of the project. That is normal. Most people move a panel or rethink the battery size once they have seen the drawing.

Yes. Our project records show 31+ completed installations in and around Seaford. We cover Seaford from our base in Eastbourne, across BN25, including Bishopstone, South Hill, East Blatchington. We have not published a Seaford case study yet — the projects we publish are the ones customers have agreed we can show — so ask at survey and we will talk you through comparable systems nearby.

Lewes District Council is the local planning authority for Seaford. Most domestic rooftop solar is permitted development, so an application is often not needed at all; listed buildings, conservation areas and some flats need extra checks. We confirm which applies during the survey and handle any Lewes District Council submission on your behalf.

The BN25 seafront and the roads climbing towards Seaford Head take wind straight off the Channel, and the salt air that comes with it. We allow for that when we specify fixings and corrosion-resistant components, and we plan cable routes and roof access around the split roofs and dormers that are common here — all confirmed during the survey rather than assumed from the road.

A typical 4kW solar-only install in Seaford costs £6,000–£8,000, and battery storage is from £1,750 for a 5 kWh battery, with larger batteries priced at survey. Final price depends on roof layout, system size, and whether you add a battery. We provide a fixed, itemised quote after a survey so you know exactly what's included.
